Graphix By Billy NASCAR Trivia Series Coming To Towanda Elks!

The Towanda Elks Lodge 2191 is pleased to announce the Graphix By Billy Signs & Graphics NASCAR Trivia Series! These trivia contests will consist of questions about NASCAR's top series, currently known as the Sprint Cup Series. Questions will vary, from the series' beginnings to the modern day. The series invites individual entrants (not teams) age 16 and older to enter, with an entry fee of $3 per person. The events will be held on Tuesdays, with the first 5 dates (April 15th, April 29th, May 6th, May 27th, and June 10th) being qualifiers. The winner on each of these dates will take home $25 cash, and the top 2 finishers will qualify for the Series Championship on June 24th. The winner of the Championship event will receive a pair of tickets to the Federated Auto Parts 400 Sprint Cup Series race at Richmond International Raceway on Saturday, September 6th.

The events will begin at 7pm in the banquet room at the Towanda Elks Lodge 2191, located on South Main St. in Towanda, PA. No reservations are needed, and the entry fee can be paid at the door. Graphix By Billy owner and former NASCAR Modified driver Billy Maynard will be hosting the events, which promise to be filled with fun, and maybe even some surprises! Spectators are welcome to join the fun at no charge. The door will open at 5:30pm. Tuesday's are Wing Night at the Elk's, so arrive early and try some of their new wing flavors such as Salt & Vinegar, Sour Cream & Onion, White Cheddar, or stick with traditional flavors. Beverages will be available at the bar.

Each event will consist of two rounds of 20 questions, split by a 15 to 20 minute intermission to allow anyone wanting to grab a quick bite or something to drink to do so. Also during intermission, door prizes will be given away by random drawing (everyone in attendance will be given a ticket when they enter). Immediately following the 2nd round, a “Victory Lane” bonus question worth additional points will be asked.

Entrants may enter as many of the “qualifier” events as they wish. If an entrant that has already qualified for the Championship Event should finish in the top 2 again, they will still be awarded any cash prizes earned, but the qualifying spot will bump down to the next finisher. Complete rules can be found at http://www.graphixbybilly.com/.

Anyone with questions about the event can contact Billy or Darlene Maynard at Graphix By Billy by calling 570-265-8974. Even if you're not a race fan, these events are sure to entertain, so join us for an affordable night of food and fun!

MEI Motorsports To Send A Lucky Serviceman Or Woman To The Races!

MEI Motorsports is continuing to say “Thank You” to our servicemen and women by giving them a chance to enjoy a race on us!

The team has put together special tribute theme on the S & A Construction & Excavation IMCA DirtWorks Modified #69 for the 2014 season. For the tribute, the team utilized social media to allow people to submit the names of past and present servicemen and women over a 3 week period. The car was very well received when unveiled at the Stolarcyk Chevrolet Southern Tier Speedworld Show in Johnson City, NY in early March. The car won the Jan Billings Memorial Best Appearing IMCA Award, as well as the Bob Whitman Best In Show Award.

Now, MEI owner Billy Maynard and MEI driver Jake Maynard, with the help of long-time friend and team supporter Ken Murphy, MEI Motorsports is taking another step to show thanks to those that have served. The team will begin taking entries immediately to win FOUR tickets to the Federated Auto Parts 400 at Richmond (VA) International Raceway on Saturday, September 6th, 2014. Entries are limited to service members ONLY. Anyone that has served or is serving in any branch of the US Military (Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard, National Guard) may enter.

The winner will be drawn on July 6th, 2014, with the winner to be announced via the team's Facebook page that evening. The winner will be asked to provide some form of proof of their service (a photo in uniform, discharge papers, dog tags, etc.). This will allow as much time as possible for word to spread and for entries to come in, yet it will still allow the winner of the tickets 2 months to make their plans.

“We are excited to offer this chance to take in a race at one of the most exciting tracks the nation's premier stock car series competes on. With the help of Ken Murphy, we were able to secure 4 tickets, which works out great. This will allow the winner to enjoy the event with 3 people special to them whether it be their spouse and children, their parents, siblings, or just 3 close friends. In the big picture, what we've done with the car this season, and this ticket giveaway, are minimal in significance. But sometimes, a simple thank you, or a small expression of gratitude, can speak volumes. We have already seen that so many join us in their feelings of gratitude to these individuals. It is our hope that our efforts this season will encourage others to acknowledge the sacrifice, honor, courage, and integrity they have displayed in their service to our country,” explains Billy.

Any serviceman or woman can enter by sending the team their name (first and last), current town/city of residence, and contact methods (Email, phone, or both) so the team can contact the winner to get verification of their service and to make arrangements to get them the tickets. Entries can be sent by the following methods: 1) Like MEI Motorsports on Facebook and send information in a private message; 2) Email entry information to: giveaway@meimotorsports.com; or 3) send information in a private message on RaceNY.com. Thank you to all of our servicemen and women, and good luck to all who enter to win the tickets!
